Blending Old & New

This living room perfectly combines several styles of furniture and materials, with a backdrop of intricate wall and ceiling finishes. The Venetian plaster ceiling and stria wood grain finish on the crown molding and custom built-ins were all done by hand. The arched top detail of the built-in bookcases mimics the stone design in the fireplace façade while adding visual interest and a touch of feminism to the beautiful traditional living room.

The table design beautifully depicts morning glories intertwined among tree branches housing cardinals and other birds at rest, a monogram of the families last name, and a scroll border mirroring the scrolls in the custom iron table base. Truly a work of art! Hand-blown colored glass pendants and hand-forged iron chandelier show how beautiful lighting make all the difference in this kitchen. The antique streetlight separating both spaces was the thrill of the hunt and later refurbished to work electrically.
